2005 Campaign for Supportive Housing

The Dream Team and the Boards for Mental Health and Housing Services (BMHHS) are launching a campaign to get the government to keep its election promise and fund 6,600 new supportive housing units for people with mental illness across the province. The campaign includes: A postcard petition A plan for 1,000 new units a year in Toronto, and 1,200 a year in the rest of the province, for the next 3 years The Dream Team's Show Me a Way to Go Home fundraising concert February 27 at Convocation Hall, U of T Presentation of the petition to the government in early March. Social activist June Callwood, City of Toronto Councillor Olivia Chow, students, teachers, housing providers and psychiatric consumer survivors will kick off the campaign January 24 at 10 a.m. at a supportive housing site at 49 Mutual Street (between Jarvis and Church at Shuter).
