2005 U.S. Conference of Mayors Survey On Hunger and Homelessness: a Status Report On Hunger and Homelessness in American Cities

The U.S. Conference of Mayors surveyed 24 major cities whose mayors were members of its Task Force on Hunger and Homelessness, to assess the status of hunger and homelessness in America's cities during 2005. The survey shows that overall, the demand for food increased by 12 percent and shelter by 6 percent. This year the survey included information on the victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
