Homelessness is one of the hidden stories in New Hampshire. Off in the woods, under the bridges, at campgrounds around the state in tents provided by city welfare offices, in cramped hotel rooms and in emergency housing shelters are hundreds of our fellow residents. Still more are doubled up with friends and young adults are living with their parents because they can’t find or afford an apartment. New in this mix is the practice of companies renting hotel space to accommodate workers who can’t find a place to live. Why? New Hampshire is in a housing crisis. (abstract from the document)
