This report examines the extent and nature of financial exclusion experienced by young people leaving care in Wales. It is based on research undertaken to explore how young care leavers manage financially once they’ve left the care system, their knowledge and experience of money issues, their perceived ability to make informed financial decisions, the accessibility of mainstream financial products, and how well these products meet their needs. In doing so, it also highlights the impact living on a low income and being financially excluded can have on these young people’s lives.
