Hunger and Homelessness Survey: A Status Report on Hunger and Homelessness in America’s Cities

The U.S Conference of Mayors’ Report on Homelessness and Hunger serves as a measure of the housing and food needs of the most vulnerable citizens in U.S. cities. It is intended to serve as a reference for policy makers and journalists on the extent of and solutions to hunger and homelessness in U.S. cities.

This report presents the number and characteristics of people experiencing homelessness and hunger in cities across the United States, trends in homelessness and hunger over time, and information on the city responses to both social issues. Data reported to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and survey results from mayors who serve on the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ Task Force on Hunger and Homelessness are used in this report.
