Program Coordinator for Outreach Services

This organization is a center for older, homeless or marginally housed men. The Coordinator is tasked
with the development and maintenance of services to seniors in the community.

Major Responsibilities:
Assesses and prioritizes volunteer based assistance to seniors.

  • Develops and supervises volunteers for Community Support/Friendly visiting program.
  • Develops, with staff, interns, and trainees, suitable socialization activities at our centre and community.
  • Maintains personnel and service information, performance indicators, and program reports as required.
  • Coordinate services and programs with other members of the management team as required.
  • Coordinate special projects as required.

Reporting Relationships:

  • Works with staff, interns and trainees as required.
  • Coordinates activities with Recreational Therapist.
  • Supervises, either directly or through staff, all community service volunteers.
  • Coordinates work with Director of Community Social Services and Director of Operations.
  • Reports directly to Executive Director or delegate.

Qualifications:
Analytical and communications skills in oral and written English associated with a Masters level
University education.

Educational background and experience in the field of volunteer management and program development. Social Work, Community Planning or Mental Health educational background and experience will be considered assets.

Demonstrated creativity, dynamism and excellent interpersonal and group work skills.
