Job Description:
Senior Care Providers and Community Mental Health Providers will ideally have geriatric mental health experience and have expertise working with individuals with hard-to-serve behaviours. This position will respond to seniors who have developed severe behavioural, social, emotional and/or psychiatric difficulties. More specifically, responsibilities of this position will include providing one-to-one support to individuals who experience cognitive, physical, behavioural, psychosocial and mental health challenges. Individuals applying for this position must have experience working with multidisciplinary teams and have a client-centred approach to care. As part of this position the individuals will be working with seniors in a range of settings, including senior's own home, retirement home, long-term care facility or a hospital.
Minimum Requirements:
- College diploma / university degree in a health or social service related program
- Minimum 3 years full-time paid work experience in social/health/senior care environment. Please include dates of employment (month/year)
- Valid driver's license and use of own, reliable vehicle
- Valid First Aid / CPR
- Valid CPI or Safe Management training
- Current criminal reference check, with vulnerable sector security clearance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
