The State of the Nation's Housing: 2011

The annual report of Havard's Joint Center "The State of the Nation's Housing," identifies and analyzes demographic, economic and social trends to inform industry leaders and public officials and helps them to prepare for the future. The Center, a collaboration of the University's School of Design and School of Government, generates new information on housing and mortgage markets by analyzing large-scale databases, designing housing market indicators, and applying innovative analytical approaches to housing problems. This report contains 5 chapters and an appendix. Each chapter describes an aspect of housing: markets, demographic drivers, homeownership trends, rental housing, and the challenges facing the nation to provide a home in the community for everyone.
