In 1992, a pilot project was set up to build two new foyers and introduce support services in five YMCA hostels with the aim of developing an integrated approach to youth homelessness and unemployment. This evaluation of the two-year pilot period was conducted by Deborah Quilgars (York University) and Isobel Anderson (Stirling University).
