The Centre for Equality Rights in Accommodation (CERA) and the National Right to Housing Network (NRHN) have developed a submission to the UN Human Rights Committee, to inform their list of issues prior to Canada’s review under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). Canada’s review will take place next month at the Committee’s 132nd Session.
This submission outlines the ways in which Canada’s ongoing housing and homelessness crisis violates Canada’s obligations under Articles 2, 6, 17, and 26 of the ICCPR, and suggests specific questions that the Human Rights Committee should ask of Canada with regards to these obligations under the ICCPR.
