By building and managing long-term, affordable shelter for those unable to find housing on the private market, non-profit housing societies make a key contribution to the long-term supply of high quality, affordable housing and help promote the growth of healthy, stable communities. One hundred and thirteen (113) non-profit housing societies offer affordable housing units for families across the province of BC. The objective of this report is to explore the availability and characteristics of non-profit family housing in municipalities across the province, and to assess where need is greatest.
