OAARS: Outcomes Assessment And Reporting System

The OAARS provides evaluation forms for recording ASAM PPC-2R related constructs during treatment to document treatment progress and response. Key measures of initial outcomes including completion status for the initial treatment phase or program, and engagement and recovery status during three to six months of aftercare or maintenance services are documented. Demographic and clinical variables such as substance use disorder diagnoses and prior treatments provide a means of describing the cases in the evaluation and a context for interpreting the outcome findings. Materials for the basic OAARS include 50 forms to record information on each client, a tabulation spreadsheet for abstracting the information for analyses, a set of tables for presenting findings in a clear format, and a manual with instructions for data collection and analyses. Additional packets of 50 instruments can be ordered if larger samples are desired. Samples of 100 to 200 may be required for certain analyses. The OAARS can be used by programs or clinicians to monitor and document treatment response and outcomes for their clients. The basic packet is designed to allow clinicians to not only collect the information on their clients, but to also conduct basic statistical summaries on the findings. If preferred, the data from an Excel spreadsheet can be sent electronically to Evince Clinical Assessments for analysis and interpretation. To explore this service contact Norman G. Hoffmann, Ph.D. by e-mail (evinceassessment@aol.com) or phone (828-454-9960) to discuss costs and options before initiating any data collection
