This report reviews the United States Department of Housing and Redevelopment's (HUD) Reinvention Blueprint, which is the department's proposal to reform a variety of housing programs, including public housing. It is designed to better inform those involved in the public housing debate with the facts concerning the current situation of public housing and the myths surround the program. The report describes the public housing authorities' position concerning the proposal and sets forth recommendations to reform public housing to a system that better mirrors the private sector and enlarges choice at the local level.
