A website where users can build reports that describe the composition of homelessness within the communities that participated in the 2009 AHAR.
These reports on sheltered homeless persons are based on local data submitted to the 2007 and 2008 Annual Homeless Assessment Report (AHAR). The AHAR is a report to the U.S. Congress on the extent and nature of homelessness in America, prepared by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). It provides nationwide estimates of homelessness, including information about the demographic characteristics of homeless persons, service use patterns, and the capacity to house homeless persons.
