Child welfare & juvenile justice systems integration initiative: A promising progress report

This article outlines the process necessary to develop an action strategy, to implement a more coordinated, integrated child welfare and juvenile justice system in the United States. Due to evidence that victims of childhood maltreatment often enter the juvenile justice system, an integrated, multisystem approach to program development and service delivery is proposed via a four phase framework and methodology. Moreover, through the report various examples spring up to reinforce the need for a unified vision and multi-systems approaches to Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice systems.
