The study examined eight agencies across Canada that deal with the homeless, and identified key organizational factors that enable the agencies to effectively manage their operations. While there is no one model that applies to all, the role of the Board, the existence and quality of a strategic plan, program evaluation, organizational flexibility, volunteer management, training, fundraising capacity and strategic partnerships are all important components of good governance.
