Research indicates that 2SLGBTQ+ communities in Canada face higher rates of homelessness and encounter distinct challenges in accessing housing. Additionally, there are significant shortcomings in the capacity of housing and service providers to deliver the necessary support. To assist cities in tackling this issue, the Wellesley Institute examined 27 existing and upcoming municipal strategies, policies, and initiatives across Canada, including those in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, and Halifax.
